An off-duty NYPD officer traded gunshots with a gang of thieves who had robbed him early Saturday morning in Brooklyn, police said.
The officer, whose identity wasn't disclosed, was approached by six men at about 3:30 a.m. in the Bushwick neighborhood.
The men took the officer's watch, ring and necklace and then one of the robbers fired a shot that missed the officer, investigators said.
The officer was carrying his service weapon and fired a shot at the robbers as they fled, but didn't hit anyone.
The robbery occurred in the area of Wyckoff Avenue and Grove Street.
No arrests have been reported.
