Off-Duty Cop Stabbed During Fight at Bronx Strip Club

An off-duty cop was stabbed early Sunday inside a Bronx strip club, law enforcement officials said.

Officer Modesto Alamo, 35, was repeatedly stabbed in the abdomen around 5:15 a.m. while trying to pull his stripper girlfriend out of a melee inside the Crazyhorse Cabaret on Boston Road in Edenwald, according to sources.

According to the Daily News, Alamo was under investigation by the NYPD for alleged assault prior to the melee at the strip joint.  The club was the same place former "Sopranos" actor Lillo Brancato went drinking before a deadly 2005 shootout with a cop.

According to police, Alamo's girlfriend, a dancer at the club, drove Alamo by private vehicle to Jacobi Hospital. He is in stable condition.
