SUV Runs Over Off-Duty Cop's Foot, Pins Woman Against Wall in East Harlem: NYPD

An out-of-control SUV ran over an off-duty cop's foot, then pinned a 34-year-old woman against a wall, critically injuring her, according to the NYPD.

A 59-year-old man was trying to move his SUV in a parking lot near Lexington Avenue and East 102nd Street in East Harlem when he hit several parked cars and rolled out onto the sidewalk.

The off-duty cop was in the SUV's path, authorities say. He was almost able to get completely out of the way, but a tire ran over the officer's foot.

A second pedestrian, a 34-year-old woman, was hit by the vehicle and pinned against a glass doorway.

Several firefighters could be seen Thursday afternoon helping the woman, with at least two standing atop the crashed SUV.

The officer was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and is expected to survive. The woman was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian's Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition.
