Long Island Gym Owner Charged With Using Members' Credit Cards

Authorities say the owner of a Long Island gym has been indicted on charges that he stole more than $29,000 in merchandise by using his customers' credit card information.

The Nassau County district attorney's office says 39-year-old Thomas Donovan also is charged with having a loaded pistol in his Island Park home.

The owner of 5 Star Kickboxing in Oceanside was arraigned Thursday. He's accused of using the credit card information at Home Depot stores.

The charges include grand larceny, scheme to defraud, falsifying business records and weapon possession.

According to Newsday, Donovan's attorney says he'll seek to have the charges dismissed on legal grounds before trial.
