Several Arrested During Occupy March to Union Square

Several protesters have been arrested during an Occupy Wall Street march in New York City aimed at criticizing police tactics.

Saturday's protest started with a noon rally at Zuccotti Park, where the movement to bring attention to economic inequality began six months ago.

About 300 people marched north toward Union Square. Scores of police officers accompanied them on foot and on motorcycles. Several protesters were arrested during the march.

Police had no information Saturday afternoon about the number of arrests or what protesters were being charged with.

The protest was billed as an anti-police brutality march. Many marchers chanted obscenities directed at the police.

They also chanted "Justice for Trayvon," referring to Trayvon Martin. The unarmed black teenager was slain Feb. 26 by a neighborhood crime-watch volunteer in Sanford, Fla.
