Police Arrest 18 Occupy Protesters in New York

Occupy Wall Street organizers say police have arrested 18 protesters during a protest at the Winter Garden in Lower Manhattan.

Organizer Sandra Nurse says a crowd of protesters danced in the atrium of the building until police removed them on Monday. The Winter Garden is part of the World Financial Center near the World Trade Center site.

The New York Police Department said it had made several arrests but did not immediately confirm the number or location.

Earlier Monday, protesters held a demonstration outside the offices of Goldman Sachs investment bank. Protesters pretended to interview a fellow protester dressed as a squid. The protest was inspired by a 2010 column in Rolling Stone magazine that described Goldman Sachs as a giant vampire squid.
