Newark Police Kill Armed Suspect

Newark police shot and killed a suspect who refused to surrender his weapon.

The shooting occurred about 9:30 p.m. Friday at Clinton Place and Weequahic Avenue.
Police say a weapon was recovered.
The suspect was pronounced dead at University Hospital.
No further details were immediately available.
