Newark Gas Station Murderer Sought

Prosecutors have released a surveillance video still of the alleged gunman

Police are looking for a gunman who opened fire inside a Newark gas station Friday evening, killing a customer inside. 

 
Prosecutors say 35-year-old Hykine Johnson of Newark was fatally shot in the mini-mart at the station on the corner of Washington and Court street at about 7:45 p.m. Friday. Authorities believe he was targeted.
 
Johnson was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
 
Anyone who recognizes the gunman in the surveillance photo is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor's Office at 877-847-7432.
