Authorities on Long Island are looking for information after an emaciated dog was found dead in a crate in the woods Tuesday.
The Suffolk County SPCA said that the female lab mix’s body was found inside the crate, which was sitting in the snow in a wooded area near Martha Avenue Park in Bellport.
Authorities say that the dog likely died a short time before its body was discovered. It’s not clear how it died, but a necropsy is being performed.
