The Department of Defense has announced the death of a 22-year-old Orange County Marine during combat in Afghanistan.
Lance Cpl. Scott A. Lynch of Greenwood Lake died Oct. 6 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
