Police are looking for a man they say tried to lure a 7-year-old girl into his car in Queens on Monday.

The girl was playing with her cousins at Corona Avenue and National Street in Corona at about 6:30 p.m. when the man drove up in a black Toyota Camry, according to the girl's family and the NYPD.

The man motioned with his hand for the girl to come to the vehicle, and was performing a lewd act, according to a relative who did not want to appear on camera.

The relative said the girl immediately ran away, and the man drove off.

"She was very smart," the woman said. "She talked to her mother right away."

The suspect's sketch is now posted at businesses around the neighborhood, and parents are keeping close tabs on their children.

"There's a lot of kids in the neighborhood and a lot of us trust each other enough to let our kids play freely on the street," said Adrien Caesar. "But if stuff like that can happen so close, it's going make people get a lot tighter with their children."

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
