New York Man Gets Prison in Connecticut Overdose Death

A New York man is headed to federal prison for selling heroin to a Connecticut man who died from an overdose.

A federal judge sentenced 22-year-old Isaiah Hart Friday in Hartford to more than a year behind bars. Hart pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to distribute heroin.

Officers had found the Greenwich, Connecticut victim dead in his home on Dec. 8, 2015. Several packets of heroin were found nearby.

Authorities say an investigation determined the 26-year-old victim bought heroin that was delivered by Hart.

Hart's public defender says the Brooklyn man grew up in an area with a "high rate of violent crime."
