Police say an 83-year-old man with dementia has been found dead in his back yard on Long Island.
Suffolk County police say the man was found at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in his back yard in Bay Shore.
The man's wife told police he had gone to bed at 8 p.m. Monday.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the man's cause of death.
As much as 2 feet of snow fell on Long Island overnight. Roads and rail lines were closed preemptively through much of the region.
