Jets Bringing Their Own Toilet Paper to London

The Jets have a pretty extensive packing list for this weekend’s game in in the United Kingdom: uniforms, cleats, footballs, helmets, cereal, medical supplies -- and 350 rolls of American toilet paper.

Yes, Gang Green is shipping their own toilet paper along the laundry list of other supplies ahead of this weekend’s game against the Dolphins at Wembley Stadium in London, according to the New York Times.

Equipment managers say they’re bringing the American toiletry because it’s thicker than its English counterpart, but also part of an effort to recreate the team’s routine before games at MetLife Stadium.

“Some may say that’s a little over the top or whatnot, but it didn’t really cost that much, so why not?” said Aaron Degerness, the team’s senior operations manager. “We’re basically trying to replicate everything that we’re doing here over there.”

The toilet paper, along with nearly 5,000 other items the Jets and the 5 other NFL teams playing in London, are being taken across the Atlantic in a ship, the Times reports.

The Jets began planning for the voyage shortly after the game was announced. Preparations including everything from the packing list to sleep studies for players to help them avoid jet lag and multiple dry run flights to make sure the team makes it from the airport to the stadium without issues.

“Those are the things that keep us up at night -- that we get through security, someone stops at duty free, and we leave Ryan Fitzpatrick because we didn’t know he wasn’t there,” Degeneress told the Times.
