A man tried to slit his mother's throat before turning the knife on himself at a Queens senior center on Friday, the NYPD said.
The man, 47, allegedly allegedly tried to cut his mother's throat with a kitchen knife at the Clearview Senior Center on 26th Avenue in Bay Terrace shortly before 12:30 p.m., police said. He then cut his own throat.
The man and woman were both taken to Booth Memorial Hospital afterward. Police said the son was listed in critical condition; his mother ws stable.
It was not clear what spurred the violence.
