Lingering snow showers dusted the region as the slow-moving nor’easter that pounded the tri-state with record-setting rain, bone-chilling wind gusts and some snow earlier this week churned out of the region Thursday.
The swirling low pressure system slid out of the region Thursday evening after dropping more snow and rain in areas throughout the day.

Thursday was cold, with temperatures hovering near the freezing mark for most of the day, making for some icy spots on untreated roads and sidewalks.
Thursday’s wintry weather is expected to be the final blow of the storm, which has drenched parts of the region while dropping as much as 4 inches of snow in areas north and west of New York City.

The storm began Tuesday with heavy downpours that set rainfall records for Dec. 9 in at least three spots in the city, caused flooding on streets and along the shoreline and contributed to at least one death in upstate New York.
The system also dropped up to 10 inches of snow on parts of upstate New York Tuesday, with Albany and Schenectady seeing some of the highest snowfall totals.
On Wednesday, the storm dropped scattered rain and snow showers on most of the region, coating some sidewalks and cars with a crunchy, slippery wintry crust.

The system is forecast to move out of the region by Friday, when it'll be mostly sunny but cold with temperatures in the 30s. Storm Team 4 says Saturday and Sunday will both be sunny with temperatures hitting the 40s.
