New York City Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Deadly Double Shooting

A New York City man who pleaded guilty in a double homicide in Maine has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Thirty-seven-year-old Fuquan Prince Wilson pleaded guilty in March to two counts of manslaughter in the 2014 shootings of Russell Lavoie and Jeffrey Lude inside a Biddeford apartment. The charges were reduced from murder in a plea deal.

Wilson tried to back out of the plea deal at sentencing and accused prosecutors of misconduct. His lawyer said a lead detective was removed from the case after he claimed a prosecutor told him to withhold evidence. The prosecution denied the detective's accusation.

A judge rejected the claims and upheld the deal Monday.
