New Photos Show Second Avenue Subway Progress

The MTA released new photos and renderings Monday showing the progress on the long-awaited Second Avenue subway line.

The update shows construction work at the 63rd, 72nd, 86th and 96th street stations.

MTA Capital Construction President Michael Horodniceanu said at Monday’s City Council Transit Committee meeting that the southern section of the new line is 82 percent complete, reports Gothamist.

Horodniceanu said the 63rd Street station is 88 percent complete, the 72nd Street station is 56 percent complete, and the 96th Street station is 67 percent complete.

The 86th Street station has seen the least progress due to early contracting delays, but the MTA has added a second shift to speed up the process, according to the blog.
