Trial Pushed Back for New Jersey Mom Accused of Killing 5-Year-Old Son

The trial of a Florida woman charged with killing her 5-year-old son in New Jersey more than 20 years ago has been delayed.

NJ.com reports a judge in New Brunswick on Wednesday said Michelle Lodzinski's trial would begin in six or seven weeks.

Lodzinski, recently of Port St. Lucie, Florida, was to have gone on trial next week for the killing of Timothy Wiltsey. The boy's remains were found in 1992 in Edison.

Lodzinski has said Timothy was abducted from a carnival in Sayreville in May 1991.

The judge must decide whether to allow testimony by an Arizona man who claims a friend told him he killed a child in New Jersey under remarkably similar circumstances.

A hearing on that matter is scheduled for next week.
