A masked robber shot a New Jersey gas station attendant in the groin before stealing cash Monday night, police say.

The robber went into the Delta gas station on Park Avenue in West Orange at about 9:45 p.m. and demanded money from the attendant inside. At some point, the robber pulled out a gun and shot the attendant.

The suspect then left the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.

The attendant was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It’s the second such robbery in a week. Another attendant was shot in the stomach during a robbery at a gas station in Ridgefield Park late on June 9. It’s not clear if the two robberies are related.

No arrests have been made.
