A 25-year-old man faces multiple charges including murder after a 24-year-old New Jersey man was found dead in the trunk of his own car on a New York City street after an apparent kidnapping.
Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli says 25-year-old Andre Jamal Thompson is charged with felony murder, robbery and burglary in the death of 24-year-old Jordan Johnson of Fort Lee. Thompson was arrested last week in a Maryland hotel room and is now awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
Bail was set at $2 million cash for Thompson, who lives in Fort Lee and Worcester, Massachusetts and is also known as "Boogie."
Molinelli says Thompson allegedly lured Johnson to an apartment in Fort Lee. Thompson was attacked there and eventually killed. Medical examiners have said Johnson died of strangulation.
Johnson's girlfriend, Megan Faulkner, reported him missing late last month when he didn't meet her in Harlem despite telling her to go to the neighborhood in a text.
Johnson's sister, Jacqueline Taylor, said something was off about the messages Faulkner got late that night from Johnson's phone.
She said Faulkner didn't feel like they were coming from her boyfriend, despite being sent from his cell, but Faulkner left the couple's Fort Lee apartment to meet him in Harlem anyway.

When Johnson didn't show or respond to her texts and calls, Faulkner told police he was missing. Then she returned to their apartment across the river and found it burglarized, authorities said. Cash and jewelry had been stolen.
Johnson’s body was found two days later in the trunk of his car on East 211th Street in Norwood.
Molinelli says the investigation is ongoing and more people could be arrested.
