Suspect Arrested After Nassau Court Bomb Threats

Police say a Long Island man has been arrested on charges he falsely reported two bomb threats to the Nassau County District Court House.

Police say the court house in Hempstead was briefly evacuated Monday morning after 911 received two telephone calls that a bomb was going to go off. The building was searched and deemed safe.

Police say 25-year-old Melbis Hernandez, of Hempstead, was arrested after an investigation in which they learned that one of the telephone calls came from a nearby public telephone booth.

Hernandez is to be arraigned on Tuesday. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
