NYPD IDs Woman, Reunites Her With Her Husband

An elderly woman who was found on a Bronx street but could not give information about herself except for her first name, "Maria," was returned home safely Saturday, police said.

The husband of the 77-year-old woman was in the hospital at the time she was found. He called 911 after he returned home Saturday and realized she was missing.

Officers responding to the call recognized her photo as the same woman who was found Friday evening.

The two have since been reunited.

The woman, who is from the Bronx, was found Friday night on East 199th Street near Lehman College. She was cared for at Montefiore Medical Center before being reunited with her husband, according to the NYPD.
