NYPD Seeking Second Avenue Wheelchair Bandit

What's worse than taking candy from a baby? Taking a wheelchair from an old man.

Cops say the man pictured above a tourists motorized wheelchair on the East Side.

The wheelchair belonged to a 68-year-old man from Florida who was having dinner with his daughter at Palm Too restaurant at 840 Second Avenue on July 20, cops said.

The elderly man -- a stroke victim -- left his wheelchair parked outside when a witness saw the robber motoring away northbound on the sidewalk, cops said.

The blue and black wheelchair is a "Jet 3 Ultra" model, manufactured by Pride.

The robber is described by cops as a white or Hispanic male with short, dark hair, and is about 25-30 years old. He believed to be 5’8” to 5’10” and weighs about 160-170 pounds. The brazen bandit was wearing a blue shirt, light-colored pants and white sneakers when he struck.
