NYPD rescue teams airlifted a hiker who broke her ankle and was stranded on a cliff near the Hudson River in New Jersey Sunday afternoon, officials say.
The unit was called to help the hiker who had been stranded and injured about 200 feet up from the bottom of a rocky cliff in Alpine, police say.
Video of the rescue shows the team’s helicopter hovering about 50 feet above the woman and Piermont firefighters at the scene.
One rescuer is then lowered to the ground to get the woman into a rescue basket. Once she was strapped in, police say, she was hoisted up and taken to Nyack Hospital.
She’s being treated for a broken left foot and is in stable condition.
