Police Shoot Man Who Came at Officers with Knife: NYPD

Police shot and killed a man Sunday after he came at officers with a knife on a Queens street, the NYPD said.

The man entered New York Hospital Queens at around 2:30 a.m. complaining of chest pains, said police. After he was treated and released, he returned shortly afterward and began menacing staffers with a knife and asking for syringes, the NYPD staff.

Police tracked the man to Kissena Boulevard in Flushing, where he walked away from at least one officer before being confronted by two other officers wearing uniforms, police said. According to the NYPD, the man came at the officers with a knife, and one of them shot him in the chest; emergency medical workers worked to revive him, but he died at the hospital.
