The Brooklyn woman convicted of stabbing her former boyfriend to death in his Queens home has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison, the Queens District Attorney announced Wednesday.
Anna Adams, 42, was convicted of second-degree murder in March for allegedly stabbing her former boyfriend multiple times and wrapping his body in bed sheets, then dousing them in bleach in September 2012.
It was revealed in court that a blood trail was found in the Jamaica home of Jeffrey Perkins and his body was discovered with stab wounds to the neck, back and head.
A shoe matching the one Adams was wearing when she was taken into custody was also found at the scene, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said in a statement.
“This was a particularly brutal killing. There were blood trails throughout the house and even outside the residence. The 46-year-old victim was stabbed numerous times and his bleeding remains partially wrapped in bed sheets and then doused with bleach," Brown said in a statement. "Under the circumstances, the sentence imposed by the Court was more than warranted."
