A New York City high school English teacher is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student and videotaping the encounter.
A 33-year-old New York City high school English teacher had sex with a 16-year-old student and videotaped the encounter, authorities say.
Tara Driscoll, of Bayshore, is accused of taking the boy to the Capri Motel in Lynbrook on March 19, where they had intercourse and oral sex.
She is being charged with third-degree rape and third-degree criminal sexual act. She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment and bail was set at $5,000.
An order of protection has been issued for the boy.
Defense attorney Virginia Lopreto declined comment.
Prosecutors said Driscoll has a history of alcohol abuse and was recently in rehab.
The city Department of Education said Driscoll has been a teacher for five years at Campus Magnet Educational Complex in Queens.
"She was reassigned away from the classroom in May, pending an investigation," the city said.
