Police Zero in on Staten Island's Daring Teen Bike Riders

Police are cracking down on teenage bike riders who they say endanger themselves and drivers by performing tricks in the streets of Staten Island.

The NYPD arrested several boys for reckless riding and confiscated their bikes Tuesday night.

Officials said the teen riders perform tricks as they ride into oncoming traffic. The feats have garnered hundreds of complaints on a Facebook page from residents who fear for the safety of the teens.

Police said they are monitoring a planned "rideout" that may happen Thursday. They believe the gathering could attract dozens of bike riders and would create traffic problems.
