Teen Arrested for Allegedly Punching, Pushing Officers: NYPD

Two NYPD officers were taken to the hospital after a teen allegedly punched one in the face and pushed the other as they responded to a call in the Bronx, police said.

The alleged assault happened Friday afternoon while the officers were responding to a family dispute at an apartment on the Grand Concourse, according to police.

A mother in the apartment had an order of protection against her 16-year-old son and wanted him removed from the home, police said.

When the two officers told the teen he couldn't leave until they finished their investigation, he allegedly hit one of them in the face and pushed the other out of the way, causing an injury to her hand.

The 16-year-old then ran from the apartment, police said.

Police searched the area and located him.

He was arrested on a number of charges, including assault on a police officer, felony assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.

The two officers were taken to Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx.

The officer who was punched was in stable condition. The second officer suffered a fracture to her left hand.
