One man was killed and another man was injured when someone shot at their vehicle as they drove down a Brooklyn street on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The chaotic scene, which spanned several blocks in Canarsie, started when the victims decided to take a break from video games and get food at Wendy’s.

The two men were driving in a white BMW SUV on Paerdegat 2nd Street, near East 80th Street, when someone got out of a Kia, approached their vehicle and starting shooting at them, the BMW’s 20-year-old passenger said, according to police.

The 21-year-old driver of the BMW was shot in the face and the passenger was shot in the thigh.

The BMW’s driver took off – it appears he drove for several blocks before losing control of the vehicle and crashing into another car. The BMW came to a stop at East 80th Street and Farragut Road about four blocks away.

The driver was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, but did not survive his injuries. The passenger was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

The name of the driver is being withheld pending the notification of his family.

Police, who were still at the scene Wednesday night, are investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting, including if it was a targeted shooting or case of road rage.

Police said no arrests have been made in the case.
