1, 2 and 3 Trains Won't Run Overnight in Parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn for 2 Weeks

1, 2 and 3 trains will not stop at subway stations between midtown Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn on weeknights for the next two weeks.

FASTRACK, the subway maintenance, cleaning and repair program, will shut down 1, 2 and 3 service from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weeknights. The first shutdown begins on Aug. 17 and lasts for four consecutive weeknights until Aug. 21. The second round of shutdowns lasts from Aug. 24 to Aug. 28.

1 trains will not stop at stations between 34th Street-Penn Station and South Ferry. 2 trains will not stop at stations between 34th Street-Penn Station and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. Service is suspended entirely for 3 trains.

The following service changes will be in effect:

  • 1 trains operate between Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street and 34th Street-Penn Station.
  • 2 trains are rerouted via the 5 subway line between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and E. 180th Street, and operate between E. 180th Street and 34th Street-Penn Station.
  • 5 trains run between Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College and E. 180th Street. A reroute is required via the 2 subway line to and from Wakefield-241st Street.
  • 3 trains don't run at all. In Manhattan, free shuttle buses run to and from 3 line stations at 148th Street, 145th Street and 135th Street. In Brooklyn, 4 trains make all 3 line station stops between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and New Lots Avenue.
