23-Year-Old Man Wanted in Fatal Shooting, Armed Robbery: NYPD

Police are looking for a man who they say shot and killed one man in the Bronx and violently robbed another man in Manhattan.

Authorities say 23-year-old Ruben Pizarro, also known as "Chulo," fatally shot 24-year-old David Rivera on Nov. 24 following an argument near Crotona Avenue in the Tremont neighborhood.

As some point during the argument, Rivera ran away and Pizzaro allegedly shot him in the chest, thigh, arm and groin.

Rivera was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Pizarro is also wanted in connection with a robbery in Washington Heights on Dec. 31.

He jumped into a Ford van that was parked on Sherman Street around 11 a.m., police said.

Once inside the van, Pizarro allegedly ordered the 22-year-old driver to drive to Elwood Street, where he took the driver’s ID, jacket and debit card and told him to wait for him.

Pizarro then approached a second, 29-year-old victim and shot him in the shoulder as he demanded his book bag, police said.

He then allegedly took off with the victim’s book bag, which had a Playstation 4 in it, and went back to the waiting van.

From there, he ordered the driver to drive to the Bronx, where he ran from the van, according to police.

The driver of the van was unharmed, police said. The man who was shot in the shoulder was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
