3 Men Killed in Downtown Brooklyn Shooting: NYPD

Three men were killed early Sunday morning in shooting in downtown Brooklyn.

The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. in the central courtyard of the Ingersoll Houses, a public housing complex. It's unclear what provoked the shooting investigators said.

The victims were identified Sunday afternoon as Calvin Clinkscales, 43, of Queens, Lacount Simmons, 39, and Herbert Brown, 76, both of whom lived at the housing complex.

Clinkscales and Simmons were shot in the head and died at the scene, investigators said. Brown was shot in the abdomen and rushed to Methodist Hospital, where he died.

Police investigated through the night and were still at the scene of the shooting at 8 a.m. Sunday. So far there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

It's unclear if the victims were related.
