16-Year-Old Girl Killed in Queens Hit-and-Run: NYPD

A 16-year-old girl was killed after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver early Wednesday morning, police said. 

The girl was hit by a dark van heading east as she was crossing Sunrise Highway at Francis Lewis Boulevard in Rosedale. 

The van drove off after the impact, according to police. 

Officers found the girl unconscious on the roadway around 12:15 a.m. 

She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in cardiac arrest and ultimately died of her injuries. 

Her identity has been withheld pending family notification. 

The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is still looking for the hit-and-run driver.
