A 25-year-old woman was shot in the upper thigh outside a popular gentlemen’s club in Mount Vernon early Monday, authorities say.

Police say a dispute between a few patrons at Sue’s Rendezvous spilled into the street outside the club shortly before 6 a.m., and the woman was shot.

She was treated and released from the hospital, and police later announced they had arrested a Fishkill, New York man on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon. Additional charges are possible.

Earlier in the day, officers cordoned off a large crime scene at least two blocks long and there were numerous evidence markers placed along Gramatan Avenue. Cops were going underneath cars with flashlights and a car with a smashed rear bumper had an evidence marker on top of it.

A witness said he heard multiple shots early Monday and a number of people were interviewed at the scene following the shooting. Police say only the one woman was wounded.

Police have been known to patrol the area near the gentlemen's club to try to deter violence.
