A Long Island family is disturbed by footage they found on their home surveillance system.

Video shows men in hooded sweatshirts entering their house in North Woodmere as they slept — a home invasion that they weren’t aware of until the next day.

The homeowner, scared for the safety of her family, wanted to remain anonymous. She says she feels violated by the burglars’ brazen entry.

“I’m ready to do gates like 'The Purge.' I’m so scared for my kids especially,” she said, referencing the horror movie.

Exclusive video given to NBC New York shows four suspects casing the family’s home on Colfax Place early Monday morning. The video shows the suspects testing a lock on the front door. One of them then throws a brick through a basement window. He’s later joined by his crew, who cover their heads with hooded sweatshirts, two of them hanging back as lookouts.

Two of the burglars enter the home. The homeowner says her daughter first heard the sounds.

“I thought she was just being a kid. They could have went into her room, muffled her mouth, anything could’ve happened. Thank God it didn’t,” the mother said.

During the burglary, the mother noticed the lights turn on downstairs. Video shows one of the suspects walking into the kitchen. When the mom yells out to make sure her other daughter is okay, the burglars bolt out of the house.

The homeowner says that even though the video is disturbing and she fears for her daughters, she believes the suspects “were just being knuckleheads” and that her home wasn’t specifically targeted.

In the end, the suspects took nothing. They were frightened off by the homeowner’s voice. Video shows the four of them running away and dashing over a fence.

The family is now installing a new security system and warning neighbors to be vigilant.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.
