Homicide and arson detectives are investigating after a body was found inside a boarded up, burned residence on Long Island.
The body of the person, who has not been identified, was found at 119 Irving Ave. in Wyandanch, police said. The home was boarded up at the time of the house fire around 2 a.m.
The Wyandanch Fire Dept. found the body inside after extinguishing the blaze. The body was transported to the medical examiner to be identified and undergo an autopsy.
A preliminary investigation determined the fire to be non-criminal, police said.
