3 Injured After Truck Crashes Into Pole on Long Island: Police

Three people were injured after their pickup truck crashed on Long Island early Tuesday, police said.

Before the crash police responded to reports of the truck driving recklessly on Sunrise Highway, near Overland Avenue, in North Amityville.

Police searched for the vehicle and found it crashed against a pole on Great Neck Road. Video from the scene of the crash shows the crippled orange pickup bent in half next  to the pole.

The three passengers were ejected from the truck during the crash, a fire official said. They were taken to Stony Brook Hospital by a medevac helicopter. Their conditions were unknown.

The eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway were closed Tuesday morning.
