Service Resumes on NJ Transit's Pascack Valley Line

Service on NJ Transit's Pascack Valley line resumed Tuesday morning after a trespasser fatality near Spring Valley station shut down service in both directions as the commute got underway.

Rail tickets were being cross-honored by its buses and private carriers.

NJ Transit said the 5:53 a.m. train from Spring Valley to Hoboken hit the man trespassing on the tracks around 6 a.m. About 10 people, including crew, were on the train at the time; none of those people were injured.
