Sticky Situation: Tanker Truck Overturns in NJ, Spilling Maple Syrup on Highway Ramp

A tanker overturned on a highway ramp in New Jersey on Friday, leaking maple syrup onto the road and creating a sticky mess for cleanup crews, police said.

The accident happened at Exit 7 on the westbound side of Interstate I-78 in Bloomsbury. The ramp was closed Friday afternoon for cleanup.

New Jersey State Police tweeted Friday evening that the exit ramp will be closed for an "extended time" so that crews can get the syrup off the road.

No one was injured, police said.
