State police are asking for the public's help in locating the operator of a boat involved in a hit-and-run accident with another vessel on a New Jersey lake.
The accident, which occurred at about 10 p.m. Saturday on Lake Hopatcong in Jefferson Township, injured two two of the five people aboard the boat that was struck, police said. They were treated for minor injuries.
The collision caused extensive damage to the victim's boat.
The boat that sped away was described as a large, white cabin boat with an aluminum prop, police said. The boat's hull and prop were likely damaged in the collision.
The incident occurred near the Mason Street Pub area at Woodport Cove.
