NJ Mom Left 2 Infants Home Alone

Child endangerment charges were filed against a 28-year-old northern New Jersey mother who allegedly left her twin infants alone in her hot home for several hours.

Twenty-eight-year-old Dolly Santiago was arrested when she returned to her Wayne home Sunday night. She was being held Monday on $100,000 bail and it's not known if she has retained an attorney.

The Record reports that police went to Santiago's home Friday afternoon after two relatives who were there said they couldn't contact her. Officers forced their way in when they heard a baby crying.

The 8-month-old infants, a boy and a girl, were treated at a hospital and are now being cared for by a relative.

Authorities don't know why the children were left alone or where Santiago was over the weekend.
