Police have arrested a man they say killed a Newark, N.J., woman with a hammer and dismembered her body.
Prosecutors said Eusebio Jacome, 51, is in custody for the killing of 34-year-old Miradaliza DeJesus Jimenez.
Newark police were called to an apartment on Manor Drive Tuesday at noon, and found Jimenez's dismembered body. She had been reported missing by her family on Friday.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray said the preliminary investigation showed she died of blunt force trauma, but an autopsy will determine her official cause of death.
Jacome is being held on $1 million bail. It was not immediately clear whether he had a lawyer.
