New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be appearing on Oprah Winfrey's new primetime series.

Oprah interviewed the Republican governor at his home in New Jersey for the Jan. 15 airing of her show, "Oprah's Next Chapter."

In the interview, the show's producers say Christie talks about his thoughts on President Obama, what it will take for Republican Mitt Romney to capture the White House, his life-long struggle with weight and the best advice his mother ever game him.

Oprah also talks to Christie's wife, Mary Pat, and their children.
