NJ Dad Gunned Down As He Walks Home: Cops

Authorities in northern New Jersey say a Paterson man was shot to death by multiple assailants as he walked home late Sunday night.

But it's not yet known what sparked the shooting of 26-year-old Adrian Hughes, a married father of two young daughters who was going through basic training in the New Jersey National Guard.

Paterson police disclosed few details on the shooting, which occurred around 9:40 p.m. But they did say Hughes was shot multiple times and that more than one shooter was involved.

Family members tell The Record newspaper that Hughes was just a "regular family man" who always wanted "to make everyone laugh."
