Mohammed Zazi, the father of Najibullah Zazi (inset), has been indicted on charges of lying to authorities. His 24-year-old son pleaded guilty to terror charges.

Federal prosecutors in New York say the father of admitted terrorist Najibullah Zazi now faces more charges.

The updated indictment, issued Tuesday, charges Mohammed Wali Zazi with obstruction of justice and other counts.

The father, who lives in a Denver suburb, previously pleaded not guilty in Brooklyn to conspiracy.

The son pleaded guilty to terrorism charges in February. A prosecutor said "al-Qaida leadership'' directed a foiled scheme to bomb New York City subways in 2009.

Najibullah Zazi is a former Colorado airport shuttle driver who attended high school in Queens.
