Hamptons Mom Beats Nanny Who Tried to Stop Her from Driving Drunk With Toddler: Authorities

The mom is accused of grabbing the nanny's neck, throwing her to the ground and attempting to punch her in the face

A 44-year-old Hamptons mother of two is accused of grabbing her nanny around the neck, throwing her to the ground and attempting to punch her in the face after the nanny tried to stop her from driving drunk with her toddler in the car.

Laura Bowery-Falco, an equestrian competitor, was in Southampton town court Wednesday for a court conference on charges of aggravated DWI, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment after the dispute outside her home the afternoon of July 11.

Authorities say the 20-year-old nanny believed Bowery-Falco was intoxicated and did not want her to take her 14-month-old child in a car. Court documents say she and Bowery-Falco got into a "physical dispute" during which the nanny was pulled by her hair to the ground and roughed up.

She was not seriously hurt.

Bowery-Falco then left with the child to drive down the street to her mother's home, according to authorities.

She did not comment at court Wednesday, but her lawyer, Ed Burke Jr., said he would "defend this case vigorously." He claims no one actually saw Bowery-Falco driving.

Burke said the nanny and his client have had previous issues, but would not elaborate. She no longer works for the family.
