Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman whose remains were found in a burnt suitcase in Brooklyn.

The remains were found on the afternoon of Saturday, March 23 at 174 Hull St. in Brownsville, according to police. A fire had occurred there nearly a year before, on May 9, 2012.

Investigators have determined the woman was in her late teens to mid-20s and about 5 feet to 5 feet 6 inches.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or at nypdcrimestoppers.com.
