Autistic Boy, 15, Goes Missing in New York

A 15-year-old autistic boy from Westchester County has been reported missing, and police say he may be in need of medical attention.

Jonathan Bryant, who has Asperger's and is fully functional, was last seen around 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Mount Vernon. His mother reported him missing around 1 a.m. Friday when she got home from work and he wasn't there.

Police say Bryant is fascinated by trains and has been known to board them and travel to New York City. He's been reported missing six or seven times before. Police have found him in Co-Op City, hanging out at a shopping complex and on trains; other times he's called his mother and she went to pick him up.

The boy's cellphone was left at home in this case.

Police say the boy is computer literate and has a Facebook page they're monitoring for updates.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with "Cozumel" written on it, white shorts, gray socks and red and black sneakers.

Anyone with information about him is asked to call the Mount Vernon Police Department at 914-665-2500.
